1. Purpose of this notice

This Privacy Policy explains how One Ride for ALS processes personal data when participants connect their Strava account and take part in the campaign.

2. Data we process

We may process a participant's Strava account identifier, authorisation tokens, participation status and eligible cycling activity data required to calculate collective campaign statistics.

3. Why we process the data

The data is processed to connect participants to One Ride for ALS, retrieve eligible outdoor cycling activities, prevent duplicate counting, calculate anonymous collective totals and operate the public dashboard.

4. Public dashboard

The public dashboard displays only collective statistics. It does not display participant names, email addresses, Strava identifiers, rankings or individual activity details.

5. Eligible activities

Only eligible outdoor cycling activities may be included. Indoor trainer activities, manual activities, duplicate activities and invalid distances may be excluded.

6. Service providers

The project uses services provided by Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Automate and Strava. These providers may process technical data according to their own contractual and privacy terms.

7. International audience

One Ride for ALS is intended for an international audience. Depending on the participant's location and the service provider used, personal data may be processed outside the participant's country of residence.

8. Retention

Personal data is retained while the participant remains connected to the campaign. Following a withdrawal request or disconnection, Strava tokens and identifiable participant data will normally be deleted within 48 hours and, in exceptional technical circumstances, no later than 30 days.

9. Withdrawal and deletion

Participants may request disconnection and deletion by contacting contact@chocolkan.com . After deletion, only kilometres already included in fully anonymous collective statistics may be retained. These anonymous totals cannot be linked back to the participant.

10. Future non-profit association

One Ride for ALS may later be operated by a dedicated non-profit association. Participants will be informed in advance. Personal data and Strava authorisations will not be transferred unless a lawful basis exists and any required participant consent has been obtained. Where necessary, participants will be invited to connect their Strava account again with the new organisation.

11. Participant rights

Depending on the applicable law, participants may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or information about the processing of their personal data. Requests should be sent to contact@chocolkan.com .

12. Security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect authorisation tokens and participant data. No internet-based system can, however, be guaranteed to be completely secure.
